Before we arrive

Clean surfaces, windows, mirrors, and floors.Check that lights and lamps work; use consistent bulb colours where possible.Open curtains and blinds, and stop ceiling fans.Put away personal photographs, valuables, and visible cables.Arrange access to every room and move pets, bowls, and bedding out of the shoot area.

Outside

Move vehicles off the driveway and away from the front of the property.Mow the lawn, trim hedges, and sweep patios and paths.Put away bins, hoses, tools, toys, and bikes.Arrange outdoor furniture and cushions; open umbrellas only if conditions allow.Clean pools and hot tubs, and put away covers and cleaning equipment.

Living & dining

Clear coffee tables and other surfaces of clutter.Put away remotes, newspapers, gaming consoles, and visible cables.Straighten furniture and cushions.Tidy bookshelves and mantels.Remove portable fans and unnecessary floor mats.

Kitchen

Clear countertops, keeping appliances to a minimum.Remove fridge magnets, papers, cloths, and potholders.Put away drying racks, sponges, detergents, bins, and mats.Clean cabinet fronts, countertops, and backsplashes.Switch on cabinet and range-hood lighting.

Bedrooms

Make beds neatly with simple, neutral bedding where possible.Clear bedside tables and check bedside lamps.Put away items beside and under beds.Close closet doors and dresser drawers.Tidy toys and remove personal names or posters where practical.

Bathrooms

Clear counters, bath rims, and showers of personal items.Clean mirrors, shower glass, and taps.Put away bath mats, laundry baskets, cleaning products, and excess toilet paper.Use neatly folded, matching neutral towels.Close toilet seats and lids.
